Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dental receptionist in a Canadian Dental Setting or in a similar role is strongly preferred, but not required.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in using dental practice management software (Open Dental) is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is a plus.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients warmly at the practice entrance.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments via phone, email or text.
• Register patients and verify insurance details and medical history.
• Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and provide cost estimates.
• Process payments, receipts, and assist with financial inquiries and payment plans.
• Answer inquiries about services, fees and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
• Coordinate with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Maintain confidential patient records and files.
