Job summary

Wolseley Canada is seeking a warehouse supervisor to lead a team, coordinate daily dispatching, and optimize warehouse operations. You will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency while meeting customer service standards across our distribution network.

The role requires 2–5 years in distribution/warehouse, strong leadership, and the ability to develop staff. A focus on teamwork and customer service will help drive performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in distribution/warehouse
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Responsibilities

• Direct supervisory responsibilities over warehouse staff
• Act as a functional leader and dispatch coordinator
• Prepare and optimize work schedules to meet customer service standards
• Route loads and input dispatch data for day shift
• Optimize space usage in receiving docks and warehouse areas
• Ensure equipment and machinery are properly maintained and safe to operate
• Train staff on processes, safety standards and cross-training
• Monitor performance and coach team members for improvement

What you will do:

• Direct supervisory responsibilities are applicable.
• Acts as a functional leader.
• Administers workflow and prepares work schedules of team members in such a way that workflow meets customer service standards.
• Assisting with dispatching for the day shift supervisor by routing and inputting loads.
• Uses appropriate means to optimize the efficiency of the receiving docks and the space available.
• Optimize the space and the productivity in field of responsibility in the warehouse.
• Responsible for the proper maintenance and usage of equipment and machinery.
• Notifies Warehouse Manager of anticipated repairs or concerns.
• Trains employees on proper processes and sub-processes as notified by the Distribution / Warehouse Manager.
• Trains on specific tasks such as proper equipment usage, material handling and maintenance.
• Determines positions to be rotated and considered for training and encourages cross training between all team members.
• Provides coaching and supervision.
• Reports the ongoing performance of team members; identifies superior performers with development potential and notifies the Warehouse Manager of it.
• See to the application of safety standards.
• Ensures all team members achieve proper housekeeping within area of responsibility.
• Ensures area of responsibility is well maintained, productive and in compliance with the companies’ policies and procedures.

What you will bring:

• 2 to 5 years of experience in the distribution/warehouse field.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Capable to set priorities.
• Supervision experience.
• Management style using teamwork and customer focus.
