Job summary

Gibson Energy ULC in Calgary is seeking a Vice President, Capital Markets & Corporate Development to lead capital allocation, financing, and strategic growth. You will direct investor relations, oversee major transactions, and partner with the executive team to optimize the company's financial position.

The role requires a deep background in capital markets, corporate development, and strategic planning within energy infrastructure, with a track record of delivering long-term shareholder value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline.
• MBA, CFA, CPA, CBV, or equivalent preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, treasury, corporate development, strategic planning, or investor relations.
• Experience leading in energy, midstream, infrastructure, utilities, or industrial sectors.
• Proven ability to influence executive decisions and drive long-term value creation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Company's capital allocation and financing strategy.
• Optimize capital structure, liquidity, and financial flexibility to support objectives.
• Oversee debt and equity financing, dividends, share repurchases, and other deployment priorities.
• Oversee relationships with lenders, banks, rating agencies, and financial advisors.
• Monitor capital market conditions, interest rates, and financial risks impacting funding.
• Oversee treasury activities, liquidity management, and risk management.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and execute acquisitions, divestitures, JVs, and partnerships.
• Oversee transaction execution including valuation, due diligence, structuring, financing, and integration planning.
• Assess opportunities and trends in energy infrastructure for growth and portfolio optimization.
• Lead the investor relations strategy and engagement with shareholders, analysts, and debt investors.
• Communicate financial performance, capital allocation framework, and growth initiatives to investors.
• Oversee earnings communications, annual reporting, conferences, roadshows, and investor events.
• Develop a high-performing team and foster accountability, collaboration, and disciplined execution.
• Ensure compliance with securities regulations and governance standards.

Education
