We are seeking a remote Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Specialist to support our global network of local association members in identifying and accessing funding opportunities from U.S., Canadian, and international donors. The volunteer will play a key role in increasing local partners’ access to sustainable financial resources through targeted prospecting, proposal development, and the creation of a tailored fundraising toolkit.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a passion for international development and capacity building, and with strong skills in fundraising, grant research, and writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Prospecting: Research and compile a list of relevant funding opportunities (grants, philanthropic partnerships, foundations, CSR programs) available to locally registered non-profit partners in priority countries, including Ukraine and Ghana.
- Opportunity Analysis: Develop detailed overviews of selected funding opportunities including eligibility, thematic focus, deadlines, and application processes.
- Proposal Support: Collaborate with VWB staff and association partners to support the development and assembly of compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and donor communications.
- Fundraising Toolkit Development: Design a practical fundraising toolkit tailored to the needs of local association partners, including sample appeals, donor mapping templates, proposal guides, budgeting tools, and resource links.
- Knowledge Sharing: Share best practices, fundraising trends, and insights to build long-term capacity of partners in donor engagement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor research, or international development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently across time zones.
- Commitment to principles of gender equity, inclusion, and the One Health approach.
- Experience working with or supporting non-profits in the Global South preferred.
- Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development considered an asset.
