Job Description

Volunteer Positions: Operations, HR, Research, Working Group Members, Communications, Marketing, and Events Volunteers

Position Overview: We are seeking motivated and passionate volunteers to support various areas of our organization, including Operations, HR, Research, Working Groups, Communications, Marketing, and Events. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact while gaining hands-on experience in your area of interest. Volunteers will contribute to the successful execution of key projects and initiatives, helping us advance our mission and reach a broader audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations and supporting key organizational projects.
  • Help streamline internal processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the development of operational strategies and assist in their execution.

HR:

  • Assist in recruitment efforts, including posting opportunities, reviewing applications, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support HR initiatives related to employee engagement and volunteer management.
  • Help with onboarding new volunteers and staff members, ensuring a positive start.

Research:

  • Conduct research on topics relevant to the organization's goals, projects, and initiatives.
  • Analyze data and compile findings to support decision-making and strategy development.
  • Help with creating research reports and presentations to share insights with the team.

Working Group Members:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm and execute key projects and initiatives.
  • Provide input and support for ongoing initiatives, events, and campaigns.
  • Actively participate in working group meetings, offering insights and feedback.

Communications:

  • Assist in creating and distributing internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and social media content.
  • Help maintain a consistent communication strategy across all platforms.
  • Support the development of content that reflects the organization’s values and goals.

Marketing:

  • Assist with the creation of marketing materials for events, campaigns, and promotions.
  • Help maintain and grow our social media presence, engaging with our audience.
  • Support in analyzing marketing data to optimize campaigns and improve outreach efforts.

Events:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of events, both virtual and in-person.
  • Help coordinate event logistics, including venue management, attendee registration, and materials preparation.
  • Support event promotion through social media and email marketing campaigns.
  • Provide on-site assistance during events, ensuring smooth operations and positive attendee experiences.
  • Assist in post-event evaluation and reporting, providing feedback for future improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in operations, HR, research, working groups, communications, marketing, or event management is a plus, but not required.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools, or graphic design software is an advantage.
  • Commitment: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a collaborative mindset.
Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous volunteer experience, particularly in nonprofit or community-focused organizations.
  • Graphic design experience or familiarity with digital tools is a plus.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination is a plus.
  • Fluency in French is a HUGE advantage.
