Job summary

Qualicare Burlington is seeking committed visiting nurses (RPNs/RNs) to join our team serving clients in the Hamilton area. This part-time role offers autonomy, work-life balance and opportunities for professional development within our Community Visiting Nursing Program (HCCSS).

Shifts are flexible (e.g., 9-3, 4-9, 7-12), with paid training, mentorship, and ongoing learning opportunities. Must have valid Ontario nursing license and driver’s license with reliable car.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Experience in home and community care is an asset.
• Current BCLS certification (Level C).
• Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills.
• Procura charting experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide day visits to clients in their homes in Hamilton area.
• Conduct clinical assessments and patient/family teaching.
• Support specialty programs (Peritoneal Dialysis, Wound Care, IV Management, Diabetic Care & Post-Operative Care).
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with the care team.

Core Competencies:

• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and in good standing
• Experienced in Home and Community Care is an asset
• Current BCLS certification (Level C)
• Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills
• Demonstrated effective communication skills
• Charting on Procura is an asset

Requirements:

• Clear & updated Vulnerable Sector Check (within last six months)
• Valid Driver’s License & reliable car in community homecare is required
• Up to date TB test within last 2 years
• Must have your own:
• Stethoscope
• Blood pressure cuff and Sphygmomanometer

Shifts: Day Visits Saturday/Sunday Monday and Tuesday 8-4pm

Note: This is a specialty program for Peritoneal Dialysis (optional), Wound Care, IV Management, Diabetic Care & Post Operative Care in the community.
