Job summary

Qualicare Burlington is seeking committed visiting nurses (RPNs/RNs) to join our Hamilton area team. This role offers autonomy and work-life balance.

The position features flexible shifts (e.g., 9-3, 4-9, 7-12), paid training at McMaster University, mentorship, and 24/7 support. Licensing in Ontario and BCLS are required.

Qualifications

• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and in good standing.
• Experience in Home and Community Care is an asset.
• Current BCLS certification (Level C).
• Ability to teach patients and families effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform home visits in the Hamilton area.
• Assess patient needs and provide education to families.
• Document care plans and progress in Procura.

Core Competencies:

• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and in good standing
• Experienced in Home and Community Care is an asset
• Current BCLS certification (Level C)
• Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills
• Demonstrated effective communication skills
• Charting on Procura is an asset

Requirements:

• Clear & updated Vulnerable Sector Check (within last six months)
• Valid Driver's License & reliable car in community homecare is required
• Up to date TB test within last 2 years
• Must have your own:
  • a)Stethoscope
  • b) Blood pressure cuff and Sphygmomanometer

Shifts:

Evening visits Monday-Friday and alternate weekends

Note:

This is a specialty program for Peritoneal Dialysis (optional), Wound Care, IV Management, Diabetic Care & Post Operative Care in the community.
