Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada is seeking a dedicated Utility Tree Trimmer (UTT) for full-time on-site work in Alberta. You will trim, prune, and remove trees threatening utility infrastructure, operating chainsaws, pole saws, and other equipment safely.

You will train crew members, maintain records, ensure environmental compliance, and support regulatory documentation. Required certification and a valid Class 5 license with air endorsement; pre-employment drug screen; First Aid with CPR; able to

Qualifications

• Utility Tree Trimmer Certification.
• Valid Class 5 drivers’ license, with air endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Applicants must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Current First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Trim, prune, and remove trees or branches that pose a risk to utility infrastructure.
• Use industry-standard techniques to safely remove trees without causing damage.
• Operate equipment such as chainsaws, pole saws, aerial lifts, chipper trucks, and cranes.
• Train and supervise crew members in safe practices around high-voltage equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of vegetation management activities.
• Document completed work for utility or regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and protect nearby habitats.
• Perform other duties as required.
