Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts is seeking a Qualified Utility Arborist for the Winnipeg, MB area. The role offers a $3,200 signing bonus and pay of $34–$40 per hour. This is a full-time, outdoor labor position requiring certification and a Class 3 license with air brake.

Applicants should have current UTT or CUA Arborist credentials and must complete EHAP and bucket operator sign-off as verified by the Safety Department. Benefits and advancement opportunities exist within Lucas Tree Experts.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class 3 license with air brake.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain First Aid and WHMIS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manual removal of vegetation from work areas.
• Safely operate forestry equipment (Arial lift, bucket operator, woodchipper, giraffe, hydraulic equipment, chainsaws).
• Perform line clearance, pruning, and removals.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, experienced and willing to grow with us and build a career. The ideal candidate will currently hold either a Utility Tree Trimmer of Alberta or Certified Utility Arborist of British Columbia certification. In addition a Class 3 License with Air Brake is required.

All UTT/CUA positions will require verification of experience through a mixture of certifications, documentation, log books, and observation/verifications with qualified personnel.

Signing Bonus - $3200 - with completion of the Electrical Hazards Awareness Program (EHAP) and Bucket Operator skill set sign-off verified by the Lucas Tree Experts Safety Department.

This is a full time, year-round, outdoor, physical labour opportunity. Duties: manual removal of vegetation from work areas, safely operating various forestry equipment (Arial lift, elevator lift, woodchipper w/ winch, giraffe, hydraulic equipment, chainsaws) and performing line clearance, pruning, and removals.

Requirements

• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly.
• Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma/GED/or equivalent.
• Must have a current Class 3 license with air brake.
• Must be physically able to perform the requirements of the position (i.e., walk on uneven grounds, carry 75 lbs.)
• Must be willing to work at varying heights up to 75 feet.
• Must be willing and able to learn how to run a bucket truck & operate equipment safely.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain First Aid and WHIMIS Certifications.
• Must be able to obtain, and maintain licenses & certifications as required.
