Job summary

Midland Transport Limited is seeking a professional Class 1 Owner Operator Linehaul Truck Driver. You will run longhaul routes to the Maritimes, the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, and Ontario/Quebec, with base anywhere in Ontario.

You will operate tractor-trailer units, meet safety standards, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries across Canada and the United States. Compensation is mileage-based with Canada and USA rates, fuel caps, quarterly bonus opportunities, and optional

Qualifications

  • Newer model of a bunk truck.
  • Education required: High School or GED.
  • Class 1 driver's license with a minimum of 4 years of safe tractor trailer driving experience in North America.
  • Clean driver's abstract and criminal search.
  • Eligibility to receive a FAST card.
  • Eligibility to cross the border with US.
  • Familiarity with satellite systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Must have flexibility to work various shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Running Linehaul from Ontario to the Maritimes, through Ontario/Quebec down the United States eastern seaboard, return.
  • Deliver freight to assigned locations ensuring timely delivery.
  • Offload variable shipment weight and handle freight equipment properly and in a safe manner to avoid any damage.
  • Communicate efficiently with the central dispatch and customers.
  • Operate the tractor trailer in accordance with the safety regulation: company rules while following safety procedures and traffic laws.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the truck operation.
  • Report any incident, accident, injury or damage in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to work linehaul legs into the United States, including New York and New Jersey.

Midland Transport Limited is currently seeking professional Class 1 Owner Operator Linehaul Truck Driver. The Driver can be based out of any major city in Ontario.


As a Linehaul Driver, you'll run longhaul routes to the Maritimes, the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, and Ontario/Quebec while consistently following company procedures and maintaining high safety standards.


What we offer


  • Canadian miles: $1.61 per mile. /USA miles: $1.725 per mile.

  • Fuel Capped at: Domestic $0.408 per liter & U.S. $1.54 per U.S. gal.

  • Safety and fuel bonus paid quarterly.

  • Pick-ups, drops, and wait times are paid (restrictions apply).

  • Uniform allowance.

  • Company will contribute towards the cost of painting the truck

  • Optional Group Insurance benefits available including downtime insurance
