Job summary

People Can Fly in Montréal, QC, is seeking a payroll and benefits administrator to manage semi-monthly US and Canadian payrolls and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires five years in compensation or benefits, fluent French, strong English, and experience with HRMS systems. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and external agencies to maintain accurate records and support audits.

Qualifications

• Five years experience administering compensation or benefits programs.
• Must speak French fluently.
• Experience administering and maintaining HRMS systems.
• Proficiency in English is required for this position, as the role involves regular communication with international colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly US payroll (multiple states) and Canadian payroll (multiple provinces).
• Ensure payroll compliance and accurate taxation per provincial, state, and federal regulations.
• Perform retroactive pay, bonuses, and other compensation calculations.
• Manage off-cycle payrolls, terminations, pro-rated payments, ROEs, and inquiries from government agencies.
• Complete year-end processes and distribute tax forms (T4s, T4As, RL-1, T2200, W-2s) as required by CRA and regulations.
• Maintain detailed payroll records for audits and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Generate HR reports for HR and Finance departments and support financial audits.
