Job summary

Aspira West Park Crossing Retirement Living is hiring a Resident Attendant for casual on-call shifts at the Moose Jaw location. The role involves responding to resident needs, providing care according to care plans, and supporting daily activities and wellbeing.

Shifts include early morning, day, evening, and night coverage. The ideal candidate will have PSW or related certification, first aid, CPR, and a vulnerable sector check, with English proficiency and the ability to work both

Qualifications

  • Certification in Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Worker, or a 16 hour course recognized by the department.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role.
  • First Aid (Basic or Standard) is required.
  • CPR is required.
  • Food Safe Certificate is required.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required for all applicants.
  • Sienna Senior Living may use AI to screen applicants for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome residents and build relationships with residents and families.
  • Provide a variety of support options and program choices to enrich daily living.
  • Contribute to the home culture by helping residents live fully each day.
  • Transport residents to rooms, activities, health office and dining room.
  • Complete all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care.
  • Perform laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned.

This is aCasual(ON-CALL)position to pick up shifts when we are short staffed. Please note, there is no guarantee of how many hours you get in a week.

We are looking for someone who is able to pick up any of the below shifts for any day of the week:

  • 6:00am-10:00am
  • 6:00am-2:00pm
  • 10:00am-6:00pm
  • 2:00pm-10:00pm
  • 10:00pm-6:00am (NIGHT)

What you’ll be doing:

As a Resident Attendant, you’ll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?
  • Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
  • Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignments
  • Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required
  • Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments
  • Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the team leader
  • Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food preparation and service
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What you need to know:
  • Certification inPersonal Support WorkerorPersonal Care Worker, or a16 hour course that covers the provision of personal care and that is recognized by the department. If you don't have this, you must bewilling to complete this course within 3 months of start date.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role.
  • Basic or Standard First Aid is required.
  • CPR is required.
  • Food Safe Certificate is required.
  • Excellent command of the verbal and written English language skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position
