Job summary

IKEA Gruppe in Edmonton is seeking a Unit People & Culture Business Partner I to act as a trusted advisor to line managers, helping translate unit business and people plans into actionable actions. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent application of all people processes and deliver a great co‑worker experience.

In this role you will support talent development, drive inclusive leadership of local teams, and champion IKEA’s Culture & Values while safeguarding co‑worker

Qualifications

• University degree or 3+ years HR experience, or 5+ years related professional experience.
• Proactive mindset with ability to identify challenges and develop solutions.
• Flexibility to work 2 weekend days per month.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Collaborative mindset aligned with IKEA values and people-first culture.
• Experience supporting HR processes, systems and change initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Be the trusted advisor to line managers to implement unit business and people plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistency in applying people processes for a great co-worker experience.
• Enable inclusive talent management and development of local leadership capabilities to deliver VCG goals.
• Support people aspects related to Transformation and champion standardization and change.
• Be the guardian of IKEA Culture & Values, ensuring IKEA is a caring employer and safeguarding co-worker experience end-to-end.

What you'll need to have

• A university degree and 3+ years of HR experience, or 5+ years of related professional experience.
• A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify challenges, take initiative, and develop collaborative, insight-driven solutions that support business and people objectives.
• Flexibility to work 2 weekend days throughout the month.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and support leaders and co-workers.
• A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset that aligns with IKEA's values and people-first culture.
• Experience supporting HR processes, systems, and change initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

A day in your life with us

• Be the trusted advisor to line managers to implement the unit business and people plans to achieve operational goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistency in application of all people processes for a great co-worker experience.
• In partnership with line managers, enable inclusive talent management and continuous development of local leadership capabilities to deliver to the VCG goals.
• In partnership with business leaders support people aspects related to Transformation in the unit and be an active ambassador for standardization and change.
• Be the guardian of the IKEA Culture & Values in the unit, acting as the voice of the co-worker and securing that IKEA is a caring employer and a great place to work, as well as safeguarding co-worker experience (overall end-to-end - beyond P&C experience).

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 65,000 CAD to 80,000 CAD and will be based on relevant work experience.
