Job summary

IKEA Mississauga/Hamilton is seeking a Unit People & Culture Business Partner I to drive unit people plans, advise line managers, and enable inclusive talent development across two locations. You will support transformation initiatives while upholding the IKEA culture and values, ensuring a caring employer experience for co-workers.

The role moves from Mississauga to Hamilton as the new operation scales, requiring reliable transport and cross-location collaboration between sites.

Qualifications

  • University degree and 3+ years HR experience, or 5+ years related experience

Responsibilities

  • Be trusted advisor to line managers to implement unit business and people plans to achieve operational goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent application of people processes for a great coworker experience
  • Enable inclusive talent management and leadership development to deliver VCG goals
  • Support people aspects related to Transformation and act as ambassador for standardization and change
  • Guard IKEA Culture & Values, be the voice of the coworker and ensure a caring employer experience

What you'll need to have

CDC Mississauga is preparing for our move to the new location in Hamilton. This role will initially be based in Mississauga and will move to CDC Hamilton as we continue to build and ramp up the new operation.. The successful candidate must have reliable transportation and will be responsible for their own travel to and from the working locations.

  • A university degree and 3+ years of HR experience, or 5+ years of related professional experience.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify challenges, take initiative, and develop collaborative, insight-driven solutions that support business and people objectives.
  • Flexibility to work between our Mississauga and Hamilton locations based on business needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and support leaders and co-workers.
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset that aligns with IKEA's values and people-first culture.
  • Experience supporting HR processes, systems, and change initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

  • In partnership with line managers, enable inclusive talent management and continuous development of local leadership capabilities to deliver to the VCG goals.
  • In partnership with business leaders support people aspects related to Transformation in the unit and be an active ambassador for standardization and change.
  • Be the guardian of the IKEA Culture & Values in the unit, acting as the voice of the co-worker and securing that IKEA is a caring employer and a great place to work, as well as safeguarding co-worker experience (overall end-to-end - beyond P&C experience).

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 62,710 CAD to 86,226 CAD and will be based on relevant work experience.
