Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Unit Manager in Ontario’s Peterborough region to drive financial performance, lead food preparation, planning, budgeting, and inventory control. You will recruit, schedule and supervise staff while ensuring client satisfaction with service and menu options.

Two years of related food service management experience, ProServe or Food Safe, and strong leadership and cost-control skills are required. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected.

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Lead all phases of food preparation, operation planning and expenditures, budgeting, costing and maintaining proper inventory levels.
  • Recruit, hire, schedule and perform general administrative duties.
  • Ensure excellent client relationships and client satisfaction with the service and menu options.
  • Achieve compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
  • Initiate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff and effectively manage all.

Job description

The salary for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role.
