Job summary

Securiguard Services Ltd. is seeking experienced Uniformed Security Guards to join our team in the Hamilton/Brantford region. The role focuses on creating a safe environment, delivering exceptional customer service, and preventing incidents before they occur.

Candidates should hold an Ontario Security License with First Aid & CPR Level C, and be comfortable with radios and CCTV software. This position offers comprehensive training and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• 1 year of security experience, preferably in Mall/Retail, Gov't environment or related field.
• Ontario Security License, First Aid & CPR Level C required.
• Comfort with two-way radio communication/dispatch and/or CCTV software.
• Capable of standing/walking for long durations and handling crowd management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and deter incidents across assigned locations.
• Prepare professional daily and incident security reports.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring a safe environment.

Requirements:

• 1 year of security experience, w/ preferably in a Mall/Retail, in-house loss prevention, Gov't environment, and/or a diploma in the field of security or law enforcement
• Valid Ontario Security License & Valid Standard First Aid & Level C CPR with AED
• Comfort with two-way radio communication/dispatch and/or CCTV software
• Approaches a situation with a listening mindset and empathy
• Capable of standing and walking for a duration of up to 8/10/12 hours
• Ability to problem solve, effective with crowd management and use discretion and good judgment
• Use of force training and/or Military/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Shares and adheres to our values - REACH (Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy and Honesty)
• Punctuality & Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.
• Strong ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
• Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests within appropriate and sanctioned situations.
• Education background in law enforcement, such as Police Foundation/Criminology/Protection Security and Investigation is an asset.
