Our client is seeking an Underwriting Operations Analyst to join their growing underwriting operations team in Edmonton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced underwriter who wants to leverage their technical underwriting knowledge in a broader corporate role focused on company-wide underwriting processes, systems, testing, and operational improvements.
Rather than managing a traditional underwriting portfolio, this position works at the intersection of underwriting, technology, and business operations. The successful candidate will help ensure underwriting rules, product changes, pricing updates, and business processes are accurately integrated into company systems. They will lead assigned projects through implementation, oversee testing and validation, identify opportunities for process improvement, and act as a key resource between underwriting and technical teams.
The role is particularly well suited to an experienced underwriter who enjoys systems and technology, has worked across multiple areas of underwriting, and is interested in applying their insurance knowledge in a different capacity. Personal Lines or Farm underwriting experience is preferred, and exposure to Guidewire would be a strong asset.
Our client is an established Canadian property and casualty insurer with a long-standing presence in Western Canada. The organization offers a stable insurance environment, a collaborative corporate culture, and opportunities for employees to contribute to broader operational and business initiatives.
You are an experienced underwriting professional who understands not only how underwriting decisions are made, but how underwriting rules, products, pricing, and processes need to function within business systems. You enjoy problem solving, testing, process improvement, and working with technology.
You are comfortable collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders and can translate underwriting requirements into clear business logic. You are also capable of taking ownership of projects, supporting implementation work, developing training materials, and providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced analysts.
You may be an experienced underwriter looking for a career change that allows you to remain closely connected to underwriting while moving into a more corporate, systems-focused role.
