Agile Underwriting Solutions is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to grow the business by writing new commercial policies and managing renewals across Canada. The role supports profitability while delivering timely responses and excellent broker service.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in property/casualty underwriting, a university degree or diploma, and are pursuing CIP/CAIB/CRM credentials. This is a hybrid role with offices in Dartmouth, NS or Surrey, BC and remote possibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a property/casualty underwriter.
• Experience working for an MGA is an asset.
• University degree or post-secondary diploma.
• Completion of CIP/CAIB/CRM or working towards it.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent customer service and broker relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite property and casualty lines and manage a renewal portfolio.
• Underwrite basic to moderately complex commercial P&C books.
• Quote and underwrite new business presented by brokers.

Agile Underwriting Solutions(Agile)has an exciting opportunity for a new Commercial Underwriter at our Dartmouth, NS or Surrey, BC offices. This is a hybrid position. Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $60,000 to $75,000. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience while considering internal equity.

The opportunity:

The Commercial Underwriterwill develop and grow the business by writing new business, managing a renewal portfolio and bringing existing products across Canada while maintaining profitability, and delivering exceptional response times.

In this role you will:

• Property & casualty underwriting
• Underwriting basic to moderately complex books of commercial property and casualty products, coverage, pricing, production and delivery, risk management and managing local brokerage plans
• Quoting and underwriting new business as presented by a broker's office
• Underwriting and negotiating renewals
• Achieving assigned monthly sales goals
• Ensuring customer service standards are met
• Applying underwriting guidelines
