You will mentor junior underwriters, monitor market conditions, and ensure documentation and compliance while leveraging underwriting tools and systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of P&C underwriting experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting fundamentals, pricing, and policy wording.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with underwriting systems and Microsoft Office.

Commercial Lines P&C Underwriter – SME Commercial Insurance Unit, Calgary

We are looking for a Commercial Lines P&C Underwriter at an intermediate level in our Small Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit. This role is accountable for driving profitable growth through high‑quality underwriting, focusing on middle market and large commercial accounts within the annual premium range of $25000 to $250000. You will collaborate closely with internal partners to identify new business opportunities and deliver superior technical expertise to brokers and customers, ensuring risks are priced appropriately. You will also mentor junior underwriters.

What you’ll do

• Underwrite new and renewal Core & Mid‑Market P&C accounts within delegated authority, ensuring profitable growth.
