Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a professional Truck Driver to join our BC-based fleet. You will deliver poles to customer yards and job sites across multiple provinces, potentially crossing into the USA, while maintaining vehicle logs and complying with DOT regulations.

This role requires a commercial license (AZ) and trucking experience. You will perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, load securement, and coordination with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Commercial DL and AZ Driver's License (required).
• Trucking: 3 years (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver to customer yards and job sites across provinces, including cross-border deliveries to the USA.
• Load and unload poles using a log loader/boom and secure cargo per DOT.
• Maintain in-vehicle documents, permits and valid licenses for assigned truck/equipment.
• Assist in maintenance scheduling for trucks, yard and support equipment as required.
• Drive to destinations including during adverse weather and emergency storm response.
• Ensure load tickets match shipping/receiving tickets for inventory accuracy.
• Maintain truck logs according to provincial, state and federal regulations.
• Communicate with Dispatch to receive delivery instructions and optimize efficiency.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip DOT inspections on truck/trailer and check maintenance items.
• Install tire chains if required and secure cargo per DOT regulations.
• Participate in safety programs and comply with regulations; overnight stays may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Keep vehicle clean and well cared for.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver to customer yards and job site locations including multiple provinces, potentially cross-border state delivery (USA)
• Load and unload poles by using a log loader/boom with grapple attachment and including other trucks. They will be placing poles into yard bunks, and onto other truck/trailer combinations. Delivers to customer yards and job site locations, including staking loads
• Maintain in vehicle, documents, permits and valid licenses for assigned truck/equipment.
• Assist in maintenance scheduling service of the trucks, yard and support equipment as required.
• Drive truck to destination including during adverse weather conditions and emergency storm response.
• Responsible for quantities and correct sizes and types to match shipping and receiving tickets to ensure accurate inventory.
• Ensure load tickets are signed, dated, and submitted on time upon completion.
• Maintain truck log according to provincial, State and Federal regulations.
• Maintain phone contact with Dispatch to receive delivery instructions whilst working with plant operations to utilize maximum efficiency
• Perform daily pre and post-trip DOT inspections on truck and trailer, check oil, coolant, tires, connections and pins, etc.
• Installation of tire chains if required.
• Properly secures cargo per DOT regulations.
• Responsible for safety, DOT, provincial and OSHA awareness
• Participate and contribute to company safety programs.
• Overnight stays are required and schedule can include periods of time away with rests on the road
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• Trucking: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Commercial DL and/or AZ Driver's License (required)
