LJL M\u00e9canique is seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Technician to support Agnico-Eagle's Meadowbank mine in Nunavut. You will inspect, diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers as part of a 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO rotation, with 12-hour day/night shifts.

The role requires Red Seal / 310T or a diploma in Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics, 5+ years of OEM experience, and mining/forestry exposure. Camp lodging and meals are provided, along with flights and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Truck and Coach Technician certification (Red Seal / 310T) or a diploma in Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics / Mobile Machinery.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with OEMs (Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack or Volvo).
• Mining or forestry industry experience required.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty transport trucks and trailers.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer specs and mine-site standards.
• Carry out welding, fabrication and equipment modification when needed.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you an experienced Truck and Coach Technician looking to put your diesel diagnostic and mechanical expertise to work in a unique mining environment?

We are currently looking for Truck and Coach Technicians (Red Seal / 310T) to support the maintenance operations at Agnico-Eagle's Meadowbank mine in Nunavut.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy-duty transport trucks and trailers. Your expertise will contribute directly to equipment reliability, operational efficiency and the safe operation of the mine's transportation fleet.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and perform scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy-duty trailers;
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues affecting fleet equipment;
• Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and mine-site standards;
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and electrical diagrams;
• Carry out occasional welding, fabrication and equipment modification work;
• Select and install appropriate OEM or aftermarket components to improve equipment performance and reliability;
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify mechanical improvements and minimize equipment downtime;
• Ensure all work complies with mine-site health and safety procedures and maintenance standards;
• Perform other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education and experience

• Hold a Truck and Coach Technician certification (Red Seal / 310T) or a diploma in Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics / Mobile Machinery;
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), such as Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack or Volvo, mandatory;
• Have previous experience in the mining or forestry industry, mandatory.

Qualifications and technical knowledge

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical components;
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and electrical diagrams;
• Experience in mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics and preventive maintenance;
• Practical welding and fabrication skills;
• Ability to work a 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO rotation, alternating between day and night shifts.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Employment: Permanent, full-time position;
• Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off (FIFO);
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, alternating days and nights;
• Salary: $41.86 to $50.50 per hour, based on experience and applicable classification;
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for hours exceeding 40 per week, weekends and statutory holidays;
• Night shift premium: $1.00 per hour;
• Transportation: Fly-In/Fly-Out flights provided from Mirabel or Val-d'Or airports;
• Travel allowance: Paid upon arrival at and departure from the mine site;
