Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to support the Near Surface Portal Project at the Upper Beaver Gold Project in Dobie, ON. You will install, repair and maintain mining equipment and participate in planned and unplanned maintenance to keep operations safe and productive.

You will need a valid mechanic license, experience with diesel equipment, hydraulics and electrical schematics, and familiarity with mining gear.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanic license.
• Experience troubleshooting engines, hydraulic and electrical issues.
• Experience reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Previous mining equipment experience preferred.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Repair diesel equipment (Epiroc/Sanvik jumbos, scoops, trucks, scissor lifts, mine equipment).
• Maintain mine equipment and facilities for safety, quality and productivity.
• Assemble, adjust, set up, lubricate and repair mining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and follow manufacturer instructions.
• Process work orders for preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Remove, install, align, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory codes and company requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues and managers on activities within the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, you will be part of the Mobile Maintenance Department. You will be an integral member supporting the safe and continuous Mining operation of the Near Surface Portal Project. You will install, repair and maintain items in planned and unplanned maintenance. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Repair diesel equipment, including, but not limited to: Epiroc and Sanvik Jumbos, Scoops, Trucks, Scissor Lifts, Mine Cat equipment;
• Responsible for the maintenance of mine equipment and facilities to ensure their maximum contribution to the safety, quality and productivity of the operation;
• Assemble, adjust, set up, lubricate, and maintain/repair all types of mining equipment;
• Read and interpret blueprints while carefully following manufacturer’s instructions;
• Carry out work orders related to the preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance plan of the operation;
• Remove, install, align, troubleshoot, and repair equipment;
• Ensure that the work areas, equipment and work practices comply with the regulatory codes, statutes and company requirements;
• Liaise effectively with colleagues and managers regarding various work situations and the activities within the department;
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Mechanic License required;
• Experience troubleshooting engines, hydraulic and electrical issues, etc.;
• Experience reading & understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics;
• Previous experience with mining equipment preferred;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
