Job summary

OPENLANE is seeking a Transport Clerk to accurately enter vehicle data into our systems and assist in coordinating movements to and from Vehicle Logistics Centers. You will respond to inquiries and support drivers, customers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth transactions.

The role requires strong customer service, high school diploma, and 1–2 years in admin or accounting. Proficiency with Google Suite is preferred and a collaborative team environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Proficient with Google Suite and general office software.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years in related admin/clerical work.

Responsibilities

• Enter data accurately into transportation and inventory systems.
• Coordinate movement of vehicles to/from VLCs and dispatch loads.
• Handle inquiries via email, phone, and in-person from internal/external parties.
• Post transportation charges to customer accounts where applicable.
• Serve as liaison for Lead Drivers when Dispatcher/Supervisor unavailable.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by communicating and resolving issues promptly.
• Investigate discrepancies and communicate findings to the appropriate teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Transport Clerk Responsibilities

• Manually or electronically enter data in an accurate and timely manner, including vehicle information, locations, and other documents, into our transportation and inventory management systems.


• Assist with coordinating the movement of vehicles to and from the Vehicle Logistics Centers (VLC), including dispatching loads for correct arrival designation, completing all related paperwork to ensure a smooth transaction.


• Respond to email, phone, and walk-in inquiries, including internal, customer, and subcontractors as required.


• May assist with posting transportation and related charges to customer accounts.


• Serve as a liaison for Lead Drivers when Dispatcher/Supervisor is not available.


• Ensure customer satisfaction by communicating with clients; identifying & resolving issues in a timely manner.


• Investigate any discrepancies and communicate same to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.


• Other duties as assigned.

Must haves

• Strong customer service and communication skills


• High School diploma or equivalent


• 1-2 Years’ of related experience or education in office administration / accounting


• Tech-savvy, and comfortable using Google Suite


• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Nice to Haves

• 1-3 years’ experience in logistics or general administration


• Experience with AMS, VTrace, and other OPENLANE systems


• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

Compensation

Compensation Range of Hourly: $19.00 - $22.00 CAD (Depending on experience, skill set, qualifications, and other relevant factors.)
