Job summary

Bison Transport Inc. in Balzac, AB is seeking a Licensed Trailer Technician to join our service team, working with the Service Coordinator and other mechanics to diagnose issues and perform preventative maintenance on the fleet. This role requires a Journeyman or Red Seal, CVIP eligibility, and ability to enter work orders. The weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 06:00–18:30) offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyman Technician or Red Seal Mechanic.
• Diagnosing and time-management abilities are essential.
• CVIP certification is mandatory; safety inspections are an asset.
• Experience using computers to enter work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet.
• Diagnose problems found during inspections and prescribe remedial action.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinator, Tractor Mechanics and Trailer Mechanics to complete tasks.

The Licensed Trailer Technician will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Tractor Mechanics, and the other Trailer Mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action.

Qualifications:

• A certified Journeyman Technician or a Red Seal Mechanic




• Demonstrated diagnosing and time‐management abilities will be key to your success in this position




• Previous experience and qualification to perform Safety inspections are considered an asset, ability to obtain CVIP is mandatory




• Experience using computers to enter work orders




• May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less

Location and shift:

• North Shop - Balzac, AB.


• Weekend shift from Friday, Saturday and Sunday, hours of work are from 06:00-18:30
