Bison Transport Inc. in Rocky View, AB is hiring a permanent, full-time Tractor Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet.

You will work with the Service Coordinator and other technicians to diagnose issues found during inspections and prescribe corrective actions. The ideal candidate is a licensed Tractor Technician with tractor experience as a Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician, capable of safeties and strong diagnostics, and able to work unsupervised while

Qualifications

• Licensed Tractor Technician with experience on tractors as Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician.
• Experience performing safeties is mandatory.
• Strong diagnostic and time-management abilities.
• Ability to provide superior customer service to drivers.
• Support Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship.
• Basic computer skills for paperless work orders.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Holder of a valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet.
• Diagnose problems found during inspections and prescribe remedial action.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinator and other technicians to prioritize repairs.
• Mentor and support Apprentices during their apprenticeship.
• Operate in a paperless work-order system.

Job description

The Tractor Technician is a permanent, full-time position. You will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Technician/Mechanics and Tractor Technician/Mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Licensed Tractor Technician
• Experience working on tractors as aHeavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician
• Previous experience and qualification to perform Safeties are considered mandatory in this position
• Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our Drivers
• Support and encourage Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship
• Basic level computer skills (paperless work order entry)
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Hold a valid Driver’s License.
• May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag,liftand carry items weighing 50lbsor less.

• South Shop - 234090 Wrangler Road, Rocky View, AB - Weekend Day shift: This position is subject to Weekend days shift, Friday, Saturday and Sunday shift schedule, hours of work are 06:00-18:30.
