Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Trade Operations Analyst to provide operational support to trading desks across listed products, derivatives, private placements, and collateral activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

You will handle trade cancellations and corrections, manage transactional adjustments for NBCF I and NBC entities, and work with Compliance, Operations, Technology and business partners to resolve issues and maintain risk controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products and capital markets.
  • Experience with trade management systems (Bloomberg, Calypso, Murex, or similar).
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high accuracy.

Your Role
  • Provide operational support to trading desks covering listed products, derivatives, private placements, and collateral activities.
  • Process trade cancellation and correction requests from institutional trading partners, including amendments to price, settlement date, fees, and other trade details.
  • Manage transactional adjustments for NBF and NBCFI entities.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues related to trade processing and settlement.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Operations, Technology, and other business partners to ensure smooth and accurate transaction processing.
Your Team

TheSegregation & Buy-Ins Team, part of the Capital Markets sector, plays a critical role in supporting trading activities. The team is responsible for ensuring trade integrity and overseeing a broad range of financial products, including listed securities, derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, collateral, and private placements.

Through its expertise and collaboration with multiple business units, the team contributes directly to operational excellence, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

This position reports to theDirector, Segregation & Buy-Ins. The team operates in a hybrid work environment, Monday through Friday, with standard working hours from10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., based on operational requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products and capital markets.
  • Experience working with trade management systems (Bloomberg, Calypso, Murex, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Knowledge of institutional capital markets operations.
  • Experience in trade support, trade settlement, or post-trade processing environments.
  • Familiarity with securities financing transactions, collateral management, or derivative products.
Languages: French, English
