Trade Marketing Specialist at Apex Systems

Overview

The Trade Marketing Specialist is responsible for informing and executing on retail trade marketing strategies. Core responsibilities focus on facilitating the end-to-end development and execution of creative assets for programs, initiatives and offers within strategic partners within Lottery in collaboration with Enterprise Marketing.

Responsibilities
  • In lock step with Key Account team, drive the implementation of the Lottery trade marketing strategy in collaboration with all Omni Marketing, Lottery Product, Field Sales, and Operational Teams.
  • Accountable for the end-to-end development of promotional creative assets, operational logistical plans, and in-trade activation for Key Account initiatives. Serve as liaison between creative resources (internal & external), Operations, Channel and Key Account team.
  • Coordinate the execution of the Lotto Express retail strategy in collaboration with Lottery Ops and field sales teams.
  • Collect, manage, and maintain Key Account partner promotional capabilities such as partner promotional calendars, creative assets, creative spec sheets, etc. Disseminate key information to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes within Lottery Ops to ensure smooth planning and execution of all retail promotions.
  • Provide key insights and recommendations to the Manager, Trade Marketing regarding opportunities to evolve tactics, improve results, or generate incremental revenues.
  • Stay current on retail industry trends and share best practices and insights across the business.
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably required by the BCLC Project Manager.
Qualifications
  • A university degree or diploma in a related discipline such as business or marketing.
  • 3+ years of recent, related experience in consumer trade marketing/customer marketing.
  • Experience in marketing, advertising, and branding, with emphasis in retail marketing.
  • CPG experience is a bonus.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Company has an existing (at time of submission) and ongoing contract with Candidate.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of principles and practices in retail marketing; strong business acumen.
  • Ability to analyze business situations and develop solutions; proven consumer-centric marketing experience.
  • Creative and innovative mindset; experience in agency management (advertising, media, experiential, merchandising).
  • Excellent time management, ability to meet tight deadlines and multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to work around dynamic schedules; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, Adobe, web-based programs).
  • Understanding of British Columbia gaming industry is an asset.
Schedule

The successful candidate will provide 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Pacific Time, excluding statutory holidays in British Columbia, or as otherwise agreed in writing.

Term

Engagement is expected to start on September 29, 2025 and last 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Location

Remote within British Columbia; on-site one to two days per week at Vancouver Office: 2490 Virtual Way, Vancouver, BC V5M 0A6.
