Job summary

The Town of Oakville is seeking a part-time timekeeper to support local sports leagues. Under the supervision of the League Convener you will control the score clock, monitor game activity, and ensure accurate recording of events and final scores in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts are 3–4 hours, evenings, Monday through Saturday, with a 24-week commitment. A satisfactory Criminal Records Check within the last 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hockey, basketball, volleyball and/or pickleball rules and leagues.
• Previous Timekeeping experience an asset
• Experience in customer service an asset
• Data Entry and Processing skills

Responsibilities

• Control the score clock and monitor game activity under supervision.
• Record statistics such as goals/assists, points, penalties, misconducts, final score.
• Ensure referees and players sign the game sheet.
• Return game sheet information to the League Convener.

Job Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the League Convener for all Oakville Recreational Leagues, the timekeeper will control the score clock and monitor the game activity.

Key task and responsibilities involve monitoring the games and record all statistical information. This includes but is not limited to:

• Goals/Assists
• Points
• Penalties
• Game Misconducts
• Final Score
• Control the score clock
• Make sure that the referees and players sign the game sheet
• Return all game sheet information to the League Convener

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hockey, basketball, volleyball and/or pickleball rules and leagues.

Time Requirements

• 3 - 4 hours a shift
• Shifts available Monday - Sat
• Commitment of 24 weeks
• Available to work evenings
