Job Description
- Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 5-man rotation, 12-hour shifts
- Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee plant equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards, especially when handling sour gas.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous plant operation.
- Monitoring and Control Systems: Operate and monitor control systems effectively, responding to deviations or alarms promptly.
- Maintenance Planning: Assist in planning and executing routine maintenance and outages to improve plant reliability.
- Emergency Response: Participate in emergency drills and incidents, demonstrating high safety awareness and preparedness.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate operational records and generate performance and issue reports.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and staff for optimal plant operation.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute suggestions for operational and safety enhancements.
- Training and Supervision: Guide and train junior staff, ensuring adherence to operational and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards
- Experience in a sour gas plant or similar industrial setting
- Strong understanding of sour gas processing and safety hazards
- Proficiency with control systems and automation tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
