Job Description

1. Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 5-man rotation, 12-hour shifts
2. Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee plant equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
3. Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards, especially when handling sour gas.
4. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous plant operation.
5. Monitoring and Control Systems: Operate and monitor control systems effectively, responding to deviations or alarms promptly.
6. Maintenance Planning: Assist in planning and executing routine maintenance and outages to improve plant reliability.
7. Emergency Response: Participate in emergency drills and incidents, demonstrating high safety awareness and preparedness.
8. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate operational records and generate performance and issue reports.
9. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and staff for optimal plant operation.
10. Continuous Improvement: Contribute suggestions for operational and safety enhancements.
11. Training and Supervision: Guide and train junior staff, ensuring adherence to operational and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards
• Experience in a sour gas plant or similar industrial setting
• Strong understanding of sour gas processing and safety hazards
• Proficiency with control systems and automation tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations
