Job Description

• Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 5-man rotation, 12-hour shifts
• Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the plant's equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and efficiency standards
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, particularly in handling sour gas
• Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify, analyze, and resolve operational problems to minimize downtime and maintain continuous plant operation
• Monitoring and Control Systems: Operate and monitor control systems efficiently, responding to system deviations or alarms
• Maintenance Planning: Assist in planning and executing routine maintenance and outage activities to enhance plant reliability
• Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response drills and incidents, demonstrating high safety awareness
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate operational records and report on plant performance and issues
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and staff for optimal operation
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to operational and safety improvements
• Training and Supervision: Guide and train junior staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards

Requirements

• Valid Second Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards
• Experience in a sour gas plant or similar setting
• Understanding of sour gas processing and safety hazards
