Job Description

We are seeking a Third Class Power Engineer - Gas Plant Operator to join our team. The role involves:

1. Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 5-man rotation, 12-hour shifts
2. Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee the plant's equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met
3. Safety and Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards, especially in handling sour gas
4. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Resolve operational issues to minimize downtime
5. Monitoring and Control Systems: Operate and monitor control systems, responding to deviations or alarms
6. Maintenance Planning: Assist with routine maintenance and outages to improve reliability
7. Emergency Response: Participate in drills and incidents, demonstrating safety awareness
8. Record Keeping and Reporting: Keep accurate records and report on plant performance
9. Team Collaboration: Work with engineers, technicians, and staff for optimal operation
10. Continuous Improvement: Suggest enhancements to procedures and safety protocols
11. Training and Supervision: Guide junior staff and ensure safety standards are followed

Requirements

• Valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards
• Experience in a sour gas plant or similar industrial setting
• Understanding of sour gas processing and safety hazards
