Second Class Power Engineer - Sour Gas Plant Operator

Job Description:

1. Schedule: 4on 4 off, 5-man rotation, 12-hour shifts
2. Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee plant equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
3. Safety and Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards, especially in handling sour gas.
4. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
5. Monitoring and Control Systems: Operate and monitor control systems, responding to deviations or alarms.
6. Maintenance Planning: Assist in planning routine maintenance and outages to improve reliability.
7. Emergency Response: Participate in drills and real incidents, demonstrating safety awareness.
8. Record Keeping and Reporting: Keep accurate operational records and prepare performance reports.
9. Team Collaboration: Work with engineers, technicians, and staff for optimal operation.
10. Continuous Improvement: Suggest enhancements to procedures and safety protocols.
11. Training and Supervision: Guide and train junior staff, ensuring safety standards are followed.

Requirements:

• Valid Second Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards.
• Experience in sour gas plants or similar settings.
