Overall Requirements

Our Operations Department is looking for an experienced, high-energy, out-of-the-box thinker, with a strong understanding of electronics with a hands-on approach to test and to qualify a wide variety of Optical, Electrical and Wireless (CDMA) Telecom Cards in an active Lab Environment. This role requires strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and identify units for physical damage prior to testing
  • Correctly identify which test platforms are used to test each unit
  • Perform bench testing with the use of additional test equipment
  • Test on multiple test platforms with and without the use of documentation
  • Recording findings of test failures in the database with clear description(s) of the failure(s)
  • Communicate test results both verbally and written with peers and supervisors
  • Identify test equipment issues and communicate to the appropriate individuals
  • Understand current test procedures and provide input on alternate methods to improve efficiency
  • Work with debug and engineering team to set up new test platforms
  • Configure/re-configure test stations to accommodate units under test
  • Communicate with debug and engineering, as well as Senior Management, as required, to help identify root cause failures
  • Meet or exceed daily output requirements
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required

Education & Experience

  • Electronic Technician/Technologist Diploma preferred
  • Equivalent years of relevant work experience within the telecom industry

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings and production documents
  • Ability to document clearly & concisely will be essential
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely fashion
  • Ability to listen and communicate with peers at all levels within the organization
