Job description

This position is remote, requiring % travel, and is open to applicants across Canada. It is an hourly paid role. With travel, overtime, and other earnings, resource technicians can potentially earn over $, per year.

The resource department supports service sites and construction projects by providing trained technicians and field support personnel. It plays a crucial role in ensuring projects and service plans execute smoothly by mobilizing resources efficiently.

Responsibilities

  1. Travel % of the time and work overtime as needed, including variable schedules to meet business goals.
  2. Act as a safety role model, promote safety standards, recognize safe acts, intervene in unsafe practices, and suggest safety improvements.
  3. Uphold integrity, professionalism, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Assist with or perform basic quality audits.
  4. Perform wind turbine maintenance and installation tasks, operate tools proficiently, and document work in systems like SAP.
  5. Gather and analyze turbine performance data, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions, seeking assistance for complex problems.
  6. Follow troubleshooting procedures using diagnostic tools, work independently following instructions, and adhere to maintenance schedules.
  7. Support team environment, mentor junior staff, and contribute to process improvements.
  8. Interface professionally with customers and respond to inquiries, escalating complex issues appropriately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education or two years of wind industry experience preferred, especially in electrical work and reading electrical drawings.
  • Experience with power tools, hydraulic tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols like Confined Space and energy isolation.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Passport.
  • Attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate and follow supervision.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to interpret drawings and schematics.

  • Proficiency in English reading and writing.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, lift items, and work in challenging conditions.
  • Comfort with working remotely and in various weather conditions.
