Job summary

Save-On-Foods, a division of Pattison Food Group, invites applications for a Temporary Department Manager, Deli in Prince Rupert, BC. This full-time role (40 hours/week) requires open availability and leadership to deliver exceptional customer service and department operations.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, ensuring food safety, managing inventory and KPIs, and driving sales while maintaining health standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of retail experience required.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification required.
• Post-secondary education in a business-related field is an asset.
• Experience with achieving sales targets and profitability.
• Experience executing merchandising plans and in-store displays to drive sales.
• Experience in Human Resources (training, development, coaching, mentoring).
• Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
• Health and safety policies, procedures and safe work practices.
• Proficiency with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department as coach, mentor and resource.
• Deliver operational excellence in customer experience and merchandising.
• Engage and retain team members through training and recognition.
• Communicate messages and align with organizational goals.
• Review financial reports and present KPIs to management.
• Analyze department HR metrics and dashboards.
• Support strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Lead inventory counts and period-end processes.
• Perform duties including lifting up to 50lbs and standing long periods.

We are hiring a Temporary Department Manager, Deli at our Save-On-Foods location in Prince Rupert, BC.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engaging andretainingteam members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicating key messages and businessobjectivesto team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Reviewing and analyzing financial reports,identifyingopportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.
• Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
• Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Leading inventory counts/periodend of the department and resolving issues asrequired.
• Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50lbs), standing forlong periodsof time, and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.

• Experience and/or knowledge with:
