Job summary

Save-On-Foods, a division of Pattison Food Group, is hiring a Department Manager, Restaurant at our Prince Rupert, BC location. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week and open availability; you will lead the department and coach a team to deliver Always Customer First service.

You will oversee operations including health and safety, merchandising, and KPI reporting, while training staff, managing performance, and driving sales growth.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Proficiency with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department, coaching and mentoring the team.
• Ensure health and safety, food safety, and merchandising standards.
• Train and manage performance; recognize and develop staff.
• Communicate key messages and align with organizational goals.
• Review KPIs and financial reports to improve performance.
• Oversee inventory counts and end-of-period processes.
• Support sales growth and customer loyalty initiatives.

We are hiring a Department Manager, Restaurant at our Save-On-Foods location in Prince Rupert, BC. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Reviewing and analyzing financial reports, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.
• Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
• Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.
• Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.

Experience and/or knowledge with:

• Achieving sales targets and profitability.
• Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
• Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).
• Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
• Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Proficiency with computer applications.

Compensation Details: $54,080.00
