Job summary

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police - Federal Policing - Operational Coordination Centre in Ottawa is seeking qualified candidates for three indeterminate positions requiring a bilingual BBB/BBB linguistic profile and Enhanced Reliability Status with Top Secret clearance.

Successful applicants must participate in an information session and be prepared for 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, with overtime as needed to support national security and emergency response operations.

Duties
The selected candidates will need to do 12-hour rotating shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year) and will need to be able to work overtime on short notice, as needed to meet operational requirements.Pre-placement and periodic occupational health evaluations will be conducted in accordance with the Medical Profile Standard.

  • For Public Service Employees, evaluations will be administered by Health Canada or its designate, in accordance with the Occupational Health Evaluation Guide (OHEG).

  • tips from the public
  • dissemination of information to internal and external stakeholders
  • after hours assistance to RCMP units

Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, and a cafeteria onsite.

Intent of the process
The immediate need is to staff three (3) positions on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and an Enhanced Reliability Status with Top Secret security clearance.The intent of the process is to establish a pool of qualified applicants for the training program.Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Enhanced Reliability Status with Top Secret security clearance with SOIA / Indoctrination *
  • Work shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year)
  • Meet and maintain the medical profile standards established for the position, and (if applicable) any additional medical requirements for isolated posts, in accordance with the National Joint Council Isolated Posts and Government Housing Directive
  • Exposure to emotionally charged clients and incidents which may be traumatic, violent and disturbing
  • Work in a confined or restrictive workspace, wear a headset and exposure to multiple computer screens and noise disturbances for extended periods of time
