Job summary

Intent of the process
This process will be used to staff one (1) term vacancy that is anticipated for approximately eighteen (18) months.A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an Indeterminate, Term, Deployment, Assignment or Secondment basis.Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Conditions of employment
  • RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) Security Clearance. NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
Operational Requirements
  • Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, if required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license or have personal mobility to the degree normally associated with a driver's license.

  • Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS), Police Access Tool (PAT) Collision or Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).
  • Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
  • Experience in receiving, assessing and responding to front counter complaints.
  • Experience in receiving, processing and completing criminal record checks.
