Job summary

City of Brampton is seeking a Specialized Instructor II – Technology Instructor to plan, organize, and deliver high-quality technology lessons for all levels at City Hall. This is a temporary part-time position requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

The successful candidate will mentor volunteers, stay current with industry trends, maintain safety and cleanliness of the program space, and provide excellent front-line customer service while adhering to corporate policies

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED, or able to obtain within 1 month of hire.
• HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, or able to obtain within 2 months of hire.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Specialized dance experience in Ballroom, Irish, Bollywood, Hawaiian/Belly, Cuban, Bhangra, Line/Square Dance, or Latin.
• Experience playing Guitar, Ukulele, or Piano.
• Knowledge or experience in Languages, Cooking, Financial Management, or Computer Courses.
• Knowledge or experience in Fine Arts, Stained Glass, Woodworking, Photography, or Pottery.
• Preference for permanent Brampton residency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality, safe, and stimulating technology lessons for all levels.
• Stay current with industry trends and class formats.
• Assist and mentor volunteers and assistants.
• Maintain vigilance on duty and respond to emergencies as required.
• Provide front-line customer service by greeting and engaging participants.
• Complete administrative duties (attendance, incident/accident reports) in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe, tidy program space; ensure equipment is set up and stored properly.
• Report concerns, accidents, and incidents to the supervisor and take appropriate action.
• Understand department programs and services; follow Corporate Policies, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required; perform other duties as assigned.
