  • The candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality, safe, and stimulating curling lessons for all levels of participants.
  • The candidate will be responsible for staying current with industry trends and new class formats.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing a high level of front-line customer service by greeting and engaging participants.
  • The candidate will be responsible for communicating with participants about lesson opportunities and accident prevention.
  • The candidate must maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and mentoring volunteers and assistants.
  • The candidate will be responsible for completing administrative duties in a timely manner, such as attendance, incident/accident reports, and opening and closing procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and tidy program space and ensuring equipment is set up and stored appropriately.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reporting all concerns, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor for follow-up and taking appropriate action.
  • The candidate must maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
  • The candidate will be required to understand, follow, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
  • The candidate will be responsible for attending meetings and training as required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate must have 1–2 years of curling experience.
  • The candidate with Curling Teaching certification from an accredited organization will be considered an asset, such as NCCP; Club Coach, Competition Coach, or Coaching Level 3 Technical.
  • The candidate must have current Standard First Aid/CPR or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED from an accredited organization, or be able to obtain it within 1 month of the date of hire.
  • The candidate must have HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, or be able to obtain it within 2 months of the date of hire.
  • The candidate must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.).
  • The candidate must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to students who have permanent residency in Brampton.
Security and safety
  • The candidate must provide a valid Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (Level 2) or a Vulnerable Sector Check, if 18 years of age or older, issued by their local police department and dated within the last six (6) months.
