Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a claims technician to review claims, set guidelines for settlements, and provide technical support to the claims team. You will act as a technical expert and help develop the skills of claims advisors, analyze settlements, and propose solutions for complex situations.

The role emphasizes adaptability, decision quality, and the ability to revise independent adjuster claims while collaborating across teams. A college diploma and French proficiency are required.

• Minimum of three years relevant experience.
• Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of French is required.

Job description

As a claims technician, you help review claims and establish guidelines for the claims settlement process. You serve as technical expert and provide discipline-specific support for the settlement of medium-complexity claims and the development of technical skills. Adaptability is essential to this position. You draw on your sound decision-making skills to help solve technically complex problems and prepare action plans based on claim reviews. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Provide technical support for contract enforcement
• Help claims advisors develop their technical skills
• Analyze and approve claims settlements
• Conduct research and serve as resource person, proposing solutions to conflicts and situations outside the claims advisor’s scope of authority
• Revise independent adjuster claims.
