Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a claims technician to review claims, set guidelines for settlement, and provide technical support for the settlement process. You will serve as a technical expert and help develop the claims team’s skills while solving complex problems and preparing action plans based on reviews.

The role emphasizes adaptability, problem-solving, and collaboration with claims advisors to ensure efficient settlements and quality decisions.

Qualifications

• College diploma in a related field is required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of French is required.
• Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.

Job description

As a claims technician, you help review claims and establish guidelines for the claims settlement process. You serve as technical expert and provide discipline-specific support for the settlement of medium-complexity claims and the development of technical skills. Adaptability is essential to this position. You draw on your sound decision-making skills to help solve technically complex problems and prepare action plans based on claim reviews. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Provide technical support for contract enforcement
• Help claims advisors develop their technical skills
• Analyze and approve claims settlements
• Conduct research and serve as resource person, proposing solutions to conflicts and situations outside the claims advisor's scope of authority
• Revise independent adjuster claims.
