Job summary

YM Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Support Analyst in Toronto to manage Windows/SQL Server environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure stability and security of mission-critical applications. Collaboration with IT and business stakeholders is essential for delivering reliable solutions.

The role requires deep SQL Server knowledge, client–server architecture experience, and strong SDLC familiarity, with a focus on performance optimization and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Windows Server & SQL experience in a professional setting.
• Deep SQL Server knowledge including security models and permissions.
• Experience with client–server architectures and distributed databases.
• Understanding of server security policies and compliance best practices.
• Experience supporting software applications at a technical level.
• Ability to optimize SQL Server performance via indexing and tuning.
• Familiarity with the full SDLC (analysis, development, testing, deployment).
• Experience installing and troubleshooting databases in multi-server environments.

How you will make a difference:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Analyst with strong knowledge in SQL Server, database administration, and Windows-based application environments. In this role, you will provide end‑to‑end database management support, troubleshoot complex system issues, and ensure the stability, performance, and security of mission‑critical applications.

Success in this role also depends on the ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, and the broader user community to deliver reliable, high‑quality technical solutions.

Must‑Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years Windows & SQL experience— Hands‑on support of Windows Server environments and Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later

• Deep SQL Server knowledge— Strong understanding of database structures, security models, roles, and permission management

• Client–server & distributed systems— Solid knowledge of client‑server architectures and distributed database environments

• Security & compliance familiarity— Understanding of server application security policies and compliance best practices

• Application support expertise— Experience supporting software applications at a technical level with awareness of functional workflows

• SQL performance optimization— Ability to optimize SQL Server performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource monitoring

• SDLC exposure— Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, and deployment

• Database installation & troubleshooting— Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting databases in multi‑server or multi‑application environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Skilled in documenting, designing, and implementingdatabase proceduresand operational workflows

• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on timely resolution

• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and committed to continuous learning

• Passion for tackling complex technical challenges and adopting new database technologies

Nice‑to‑Have Skills
