Job summary

Open Connection in Nanaimo, BC, is seeking a sales-oriented professional to join our on-site team. You will estimate costs, oversee sales and orders, promote products to existing clients, and identify new opportunities to grow our customer base.

The ideal candidate has 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, a college certificate or diploma, and excellent communication and organizational skills to support clients from needs assessment through post-sale follow-up.

• Must have college certificate or diploma (1–2 years).
• Strong communication and customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work on-site in the Nanaimo area.

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs of installing equipment
• Oversee the preparation of sales and orders
• Promote sales to existing clients
• Identify and solicit potential clients
• Assess client’s needs and resources to recommend the appropriate goods or services
• Conduct sales transactions
• Prepare and administer sales contracts
• Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
• Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit client's needs
• Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
• Reach to clients after sale or signed contracts to provide ongoing support
• Review and adapt information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions
• Provide clients with presentations on the benefits and uses of goods or services
• Resolve product and service related problems
• Troubleshoot problems related to equipment
• Advertise and/or promote products, sales or services
• Supervise activities of other technical sales specialists
