Job summary

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a Technical Product Owner in Oshawa to translate regulated enterprise needs into end-to-end technical designs across systems, APIs, and user workflows. You will shape architecture, collaborate with engineering, and drive scalable API/microservice solutions.

Leading value stream improvements and backlog sequencing, you will ensure delivery aligns with enterprise standards while communicating tradeoffs to technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in relevant fields.
• Minimum 4 years designing end-to-end technical solutions in regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience translating complex business needs into end-to-end technical designs across multiple systems, APIs and user workflows.
• Strong architectural capability defining scalable solutions across APIs, microservices and integrated platforms.
• Design cohesive user journeys and system interactions across interconnected applications.
• Hands-on prototype/POC development to validate feasibility and reduce delivery risk.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to define system designs and tradeoffs.
• Drive operational improvements using value stream analysis and backlog sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex regulated business/operational needs into end-to-end technical solution designs across systems, APIs, and user workflows.
• Define solution approaches across APIs, microservices, and integrated platforms aligned to enterprise architecture and scalability targets.
• Design cohesive user journeys and system interactions across interconnected applications, including legacy-to-modern integrations.
• Build and iterate technical prototypes and proofs-of-concepts to validate approaches and reduce delivery risk.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to define system designs, integration patterns, and technical tradeoffs.
• Drive operational process and workflow optimization through value stream analysis and backlog sequencing.
