Job summary

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic Technical Product Owner to lead end-to-end solution design and delivery for regulated enterprise needs. Reporting to the Manager IT Product Delivery, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable APIs, microservices, and integrated platforms, guiding stakeholders through technical tradeoffs.

You will collaborate with engineering and architecture teams, define system interactions, prototype feasibility, and optimize value

Qualifications

• 4-Year University Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience designing end-to-end technical solutions in a regulated enterprise environment across integrated systems, APIs/microservices, and user workflows.
• Experience translating complex business needs in regulated environments into end-to-end technical designs across multiple systems and APIs.
• Strong architectural capability defining scalable solution approaches across APIs, microservices, and platforms.
• Proven ability to design cohesive user journeys and system interactions across interconnected applications.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes/PoCs to validate feasibility and reduce delivery risk.
• Effective collaboration with engineering and architecture teams to define system designs and tradeoffs.
• Experience driving operational process improvements via value stream analysis and backlog sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex regulated business needs into end-to-end technical designs across systems, APIs, and workflows.
• Define solution approaches across APIs, microservices, and integrated platforms.
• Design cohesive user journeys and system interactions across interconnected applications.
• Build prototypes and proofs-of-concepts to validate approaches and reduce delivery risk.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to define designs and tradeoffs.
• Drive operational process improvements using value stream analysis and identify bottlenecks.
• Ensure backlog structure and delivery sequencing reflect dependencies and constraints.
• Make tradeoff decisions across scope, timeline, quality, and technical constraints with stakeholders.
