Job summary

Peoples Group in Canada seeks a seasoned Technical Product Owner to bridge business needs and engineering reality. You will guide data and automation initiatives, ensure BRDs, architecture diagrams, and SLAs are in place, and push back when scope is ill-defined.

You’ll mentor teams, mature the SDLC, and champion observability, risk management, and DoD definitions while collaborating with Product Owners, QA, DevOps and stakeholders across the bank-driven tech stack.

Qualifications

• Seasoned Technical Product Owner with 5+ years in roles like TP Owner, TPM, or Systems Architect.
• Experience improving SDLC and mentoring teams.
• Ability to read and challenge cloud-native architecture diagrams without coding.
• Translate business processes into functional and non-functional requirements for automation and data workflows.
• Experience in banking or fintech is a plus.
• Proven risk-aware and regulated organization experience.

Responsibilities

• Gatekeeper for Enterprise Reporting and RPA requests; ensure BRDs, diagrams, and SLAs are defined before work.
• Balance backlog across epics and BAU; enforce SDLC standards and document risks and decisions.
• Drive engineering excellence; lead DORA metrics, Agile ceremonies, and DoD with teams.
