Job summary

RBC is seeking a Technical Lead to drive a world-class DevOps platform for QTS and Capital Markets. You will lead a team of DevOps developers, set technical direction, and model hands-on execution with a focus on automation and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with relevant tech stacks (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar).
• 3+ years leading a software or DevOps engineering team in an agile environment.
• Proven experience delivering production-grade systems with strong SDLC discipline.
• Experience building or modernizing distributed systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency with GitHub Actions and GitOps practices and workflows.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and sense of ownership.
• Demonstrated AI practitioner: actively uses AI tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) in your own workflow and has driven adoption/enablement within teams you've led.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team: manage and grow a team of DevOps engineers; unblock team members; drive knowledge sharing and ownership; champion AI enablement.
• Drive platform delivery: architect, implement, and ship DevOps platform capabilities; set and enforce standards; conduct reviews; demos to stakeholders.
• Contribute to broader initiatives: InnerSource and Developer Experience programs; Agile Community of Practice; Co-op/new-grad programs; interviews for neighbouring teams.
