Job summary

RBC is seeking a Principal Technical Lead to guide the ClientLink modernization, combining software architecture, AI-enabled engineering, and leadership to deliver a scalable, secure platform transformation. You will drive adoption of AI engineering practices, set engineering standards, and mentor high-performing teams to accelerate delivery.

The role emphasizes cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven patterns, with a focus on reducing debt while delivering business value and robust governance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience in large-scale enterprises.
• 5+ years in technical leadership directing engineering teams and strategic tech initiatives.
• Proven success modernizing complex enterprise platforms with modern architectural patterns.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership to execute the ClientLink modernization roadmap.
• Govern AI Engineering Platform adoption with standardized skills, plugins, and guardrails.
• Establish architecture standards and modernization practices across multiple workstreams.
• Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams to accelerate delivery and reduce debt.
• Define the technical strategy for client platform modernization and transformation.
• Lead legacy-to-modern migration with scalable, secure solutions.
• Drive API-first, event-driven, cloud-native patterns across the platform.
