Job summary

RBC in Toronto is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer for the Global Payments Platform and DevOps team. You will design self-service platform capabilities, automate provisioning, and advance AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate delivery across payment systems.

You will mentor engineers, drive IaC standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and observable infrastructure in multi-cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles with progressive responsibility.
• Proficient in at least one OO language with Bash scripting and building reusable platform tooling.
• Deep knowledge of IDPs, self-service infra, and golden paths.
• Strong AI literacy including context engineering and tool orchestration.
• Experience evaluating and integrating AI-powered developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of self-service platform capabilities.
• Architect automation systems leveraging AI to optimize CI/CD.
• Lead IaC frameworks and platform abstractions for multi-environment provisioning.
• Design context engineering patterns for AI-assisted workflows.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to the team.
